Grove GMK3055 Mobile Crane (2008 Production Run)
Presented here is the second production run of the Grove GMK3055 mobile crane in 1:50th scale. The basic castings are the same as the first run with the exception of the crane cab which is a new casting.

The front cab is hinged and can be tilted forward to reveal the detailed engine compartment beneath. The front of the cab also has a metal hoop that allows the hook to be placed in transport mode while realistic front facing driving and indicator lights are fitted to the front bumper. All the wheels can be steered independently of each other and have drive train details with realistic looking rubber tyres. The stabilisers are fully functional and made of metal so should hold the weight of the model when extended. |

The rear cab features a new casting with silver finish diamond plate lower surround. The cab frame has a very good amount of detail including grab rails, windscreen wipers and front work lamps with a fully detailed and replicated cab interior.

The cab tilts by about 30 degrees and the rear of the upper deck features finely detailed cast couterweights which even have the weight markings on them. The counterweights are fixed so cannot be easily removed from the model. |

The rear of the boom mount houses two winches and the hydraulic hose detail has been added. The boom consists of 6 sections and is complemented with a two section lattice extension with hydraulic angle adjustment. The quality and detail on the GMK3055 is fantastic and the paint finish on the model is superb with all decals and markings authentically reproduced throughout the model. |
